Tyler candles come in various sizes and lots of different scents. They have an interesting array of products, such as mixer melts, car fresheners, laundry detergent, dryer sachets, and room sprays. Personally, I think the strength of this company is in their complex, perfume-y scents rather than their bakery scents. Also, I find that for most of Tyler's fragrances, it is really important to buy the 11 or 22 oz. sizes. I almost always go with the larger size when I am trying to fill a large room, like my master bedroom or the kitchen and great room combo. The 3.4 oz candles are ok for smaller areas, like guest baths, powder rooms, and smaller bedrooms.
The scent description for DIVA read, "A warm, complex fragrance overflowing with delicious fruits and rich florals. Rich aromatic chocolate and amber complete this luscious blend." The candle color is ecru. The candle I have is the 22 oz size. When I smelled this candle before burning it, the fragrance was pleasant. It was not too strong. I could smell florals, but they were toned down by the chocolate and amber. I have to say, I didn't smell much chocolate at all. At least not in the sweet way you think of when you think of chocolate. It was more of an earthy scent. I could smell the amber. All in all, the fragrance was very well blended, and no one scent stood out.
When I lit my DIVA candle, I left the room and walked back in about 20 minutes later. I could definitely smell the candle, and the burning scent was true to the cold scent. I was not overly impressed with the scent throw. I could smell it, but it wasn't a "knock-your-socks-off" strength. I thought if I let it burn it would smell stronger, so I left the room for another hour and came back in. It still did not smell stronger, but it was enough to give the room a nice, lasting fragrance upon entering.
The scent is pleasant and subtle. I think someone who likes subtlety in a scent or wants to fragrance a smaller room would really like it. Personally, I prefer a scent with a stronger top note rather than something so blended. I also need something stronger to fill my master bedroom with fragrance. My candle burned clean and slowly as long as I kept the wicks trimmed and followed all the instructions.
If there was one thing I could change about Tyler candles it would would be that little crock pot -looking jar they come in with the leopard - print lid. I like the leopard-print lid, but I usually take it off right away and never put it back on again. But the shape of the pot seems a little country to me. I wish they would clean up the shape of the jar to fit with a more contemporary or classic decor. Other than that, this company is one of my favorites.
